Nintendo lowers the price of the 3DS to $169.99 effective August 12, 2011 in the US
Nintendo will lower the price of the 3DS to $169.99 in the US effective August 12, 2011. To not anger those who have purchased the 3DS before the huge discount, Nintendo will give current owners 20 free games if they connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 11.
The free games include:
10 NES™ Virtual Console™ games - can be downloaded starting September 1, 2011
10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games - available by the end of 2011
